Funky Floral

This Cute Little Girly Cake was all vanilla, with bavarian cream & creamcheese fillings.
It was covered in buttercream & fondant with all fondant accents... including ribbon roses & daisies.  I added some wire curly cues with beads dangling on the ends for a special touch!

Cake size: 8" - 6" - 4"

Bridal Shower Pillow Cake

This 12" vanilla cake was filled with bavarian cream filling and carved into a "fluffy" pillow!  Everything was done in fondant except for the tiara, which was royal icing, with glass rhinestones.  I did 24 matching vanilla cupcakes with pink buttercream and fondant flowers. Silver dragees and lots of lustre dust add just enough sparkle to finish it off!

African Safari Silhouette

I really enjoyed doing this cake, and I love how it turned out! I started with a 12" square chocolate cake, and then carved away the pieces, until Africa showed up. I covered the cake in a vibrant orange marshmallow fondant and used pink, red, yellow & gold lustre dust to create a sunset effect. The landscape and script where handpainted with black food colouring.

Summer Orchids

One of my favourite things on a cake is FRESH FLOWERS!!
Again, it's a great example of simple elegance, with white on white, & just a hint of colour (brought in from the room's decor).  Flowers just inject so much life to whatever the canvas!
This cake was all Chocolate Fudge, very moist and rich, with chocolate buttercream filling.  Completely covered in marshmallow fondant & hand-piped scrollwork done in royal icing (can you say arthritis?!?)

Cake Size: 12" - 10" - 8" (all tiers - 4.5" tall)

Woods Wedding

A perfect example of Simple Elegance...
This cake was 12" marble, 9" vanilla & 6" marble with buttercream filling, & covered in ivory marshmallow fondant.  I created a quilted impression on the middle tier and added glass rhinestones to tie in the monogram cake topper.  The roses and blossoms are gumpaste.

MacKenzie's 1st!

Pillow cake & Princess Tiara
One of my specialties by now; I've made 4 pillow cakes so far!
They take lots of time, but they're always fun to do.
This one started out as a 9" square that I carved into a pillow shape.  The entire cake is covered with marshmallow fondant, the flowers are also fondant.  The tiara is made with Royal Icing, and I used glass jewels and rhinestones to add some sparkle!

Meagan's Zebra cake

Lemon Cake filled with creamcheese frosting.  The bottom tier is covered with white vanilla buttercream, and topped with black fondant stripes.  Top tier is covered in purple fondant with a black fondant bow.

Sizes: 9" - 6"

The big 4-0!

This bright & funky cake was inspired by the invitations for the party.  Underneath it all is Fudge/vanilla marble cake with vanilla buttercream filling, and Mocha cake with chocolate buttercream.

Size: 11"-9"-7"
completely covered in fondant with real ribbon trim to match the theme!

Butterfly Birthday!

An all around Girly Cake - this one was a big hit!!
The cake was Lemon flavoured, filled with Creamcheese frosting!! Yumm!!!
I used yellow crusting buttercream for a nice smooth finish.  All the flowers & butterflies were made with fondant.
Next time I attempt butterflies I will make them with a fondant/gumpaste mixture, the gumpaste will help them dry much harder & faster, making my life easier!! :D

Lacey's Cake

My first real wedding cake
(Sept 2008)
& I LOVE how it turned out!!! The roses took LOTS of time to do, but the end result was so rewarding!
Cake Sizes: 13" - 11" - 9" - 7"
each tier was 4" tall
The entire cake was covered in white Marshmallow Fondant, and the roses were made with Gumpaste.
The ribbon was actually fabric from the bridesmaids dresses, so it matched PERFECTLY!

Baby & Teddy

This is a cake I did for a baby shower - I covered the 9" bottom tier in white buttercream and then colourful fondant stripes. For the top 6" tier I used fondant and impressed a "quilted" pattern onto it.
Lot's of people have asked how I made the blanket... for this I rolled out a few different colours of fondant into skinny "ropes" and lined them all next to each other. Then I rolled them out with my rolling pin, and they were pressed together, making a stripey blanket!

Victorian Cameos - My first BIG cake!! (June 2007)

The base tier on this cake was 14"x2", the top 3 tiers were 12" - 9" - 6" x 4.5"

The entire cake was covered in crusting buttercream icing, then accented with royal icing cameos, fondant dragees & tear drops.

One day I want to recreate this cake using all fondant & gumpaste, and experimenting a little more with textures!
